Laura Fidler

Growing up on the east coast in the shadow of New York City, Laura was exposed from a young age to the world of music-both classical and Broadway. In high school, she began to study opera, and fell in love after traveling to Rome to study and perform W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. The following summer, she attended Tanglewood's Young Artist Program, where both her knowledge and adoration of classical music was given room to blossom and thrive.

Laura spent her college years at the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music at Catholic University in Washington, D.C, where she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance. It was here that Laura had some of her most memorable performing experiences, including "Barbarina" in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro and "Mrs. Gobineau" in Gian Carlo Menotti's The Medium. In 2009, and then again in 2010, Laura traveled with CUA's University Chorus to perform Verdi's Requiem as part of the internationally-recognized Defiant Requiem, first in the Czech Republic and then in Budapest. It was also at CUA that Laura met her husband, Aaron, a violinist.

Laura and Aaron were married in 2012 and recently moved to Napa, California, where she teaches 5th and 6th grades. She cantors in Sonoma at St. Francis Solano Parish, and spends the rest of her time with her husband and two beautiful daughters.
